Tasting notes
Sarah Abbott MW: this has the burnished, super-real lustre of a really top wine. Addictively complex nose of honey, nut and grilled apple. Very intriguing on the palate, thanks to the combination of tiny, super-smooth bubbles with a full and rounded fruit. Finishes long, savoury and refined.
For me, top notch vintage Champagne remains one of the wine world’s bargains. Don’t gasp in disbelief: the complexity, nuance and refined power of good vintage Champers like this make for wines that are pretty much immortal, and the price premium is more than justified. Just think of the difference in price between Ruby and Vintage Port if you need any convincing!
